Mobius created a national brand identity for waste related services.

As an EU candidacy nation, Albania is undergoing a wide range of governance reforms. Improving its Environmental Protection policies is a key priority, part of which is the implementation of waste sector reforms and the transition to circular economy.

Working with our colleagues at RWA, Mobius have developed a range of supportive communication programmes across two projects. In Tirana, working in partnership with GiZ, and GFA we created a National Waste Awareness Strategy including the development of a National Waste Awareness Brand Identity and a national anti-litter campaign. Working with KFW in Vlore, we developed communications supporting a pilot recycling scheme.

To mark the launch of the new Waste Awareness Strategy, we organised a Recycling Week in Saranda. Public engagement encouraged people to recycle as much as they could during that week which culminated in a high-profile media event involving local schools and NGOs where the amount recycled was revealed.

Attended by the Minister of Environment, the event gained national interest as a result of widespread media coverage.

Communications were maintained in the weeks that followed which has helped to maintain high levels of recycling since.
